Waves of Summer A Just One Summer Novella eBook Tammy L Gray

A sweet, opposites attract, coming-of-age romance full of laughter, secrets and two very cute brothers.
Sydney Andrews wants nothing more than to get away from a controlling ex-boyfriend, find some clarity and enjoy a drama-free vacation. But nothing in Sydney's life is ever that easy. Especially when the sexy bartender she meets at her mother's wedding wants more than just her friendship.
Jacob Massey thought pinch-hitting a bartending gig for his irresponsible older brother would land him some decent tips and much needed space. But the minute Sydney walks up to his bar, Jacob realizes he's getting far more than just a customer. With her biting tongue and pointed accusations, Sydney pinpoints his greatest failure--the relationship with his brother.
Can one summer be enough to right past wrongs, learn buried secrets and find the people they used to be?

Because this is a novella, the pace moves quickly and the characters don’t have the usual amount of time to be developed. I still enjoyed this story. I particularly liked the way Sydney had the insight to know that you can’t force people to be better than they are. Her parents and her ex-boyfriend want her to act in a certain way and she is trying to figure her life out for herself. To get some time to think she is hiding out in her new step-father’s beach house for a few weeks. She meets Jacob and is drawn to him and vice-versa. Jacob is another person who likes control and doing the right thing and wants his brother to shape up. Sydney’s perspective challenges Jacob to learn to accept people as they are and love them, even though maybe not agreeing with their choices and their behavior.
Sydney and Jacob become closer, while her father and boyfriend, who can’t accept that he is no longer her boyfriend, seem determined to plan her life for her, because they know best of course.

Waves of Summer A Just One Summer Novella eBook Tammy L Gray Reviews
This book is probably written for YA or teens & I just didn't realize. At any rate, it's very slow & dull reading for me. I only got to chapter 4 & couldn't take it --- the characters trying to decide what to do with their lives. Maybe it'd be more relevant to high school readers.
Tammy knocks it out of the park with another romance story. I couldn't stop reading - very well written and unpredictable. The characters came to life. Can't wait to read another book by this author.
This was such a fun summer read. It was light and romantic while not feeling flimsy or cheesy. The perfect mix! Once again, Tammy has led her readers into the hearts of her characters. Loved it!
I loved it, like I do with all of Tammy L. Gray's books. A short, charming little book about finding yourself.
A good, solid read. The story develops just right....doesn't feel rushed..and we get good character development along with the storyline. Quite beautiful really. Great, honorable, interesting, fun male leads..and one fun and interesting heroine that is very relatable. Very nicely done!
I love all of Tammy L. Gray's books! She writes Christian romance which is clean romance that one is not embarrassed to read! I love the depth of her characters and the realistic story lines. I've read everything she has written and this book does not disappoint!
I really enjoyed this novella. While it was a quick read, it did not feel like a short story. The characters were well developed (for a novella) and the story line was well-paced, so that I did not feel cheated of a good read.
The story revolves around three main characters who are all at a bit of a crossroads in their lives. Two brothers who have become all but estranged and a young lady who had some big decisions to make. The characters struggle with what it means to be yourself and to make decisions for yourself. The kinds of big decisions that direct their lives. The book is not all angst-filled though. It is full of fun and the BEST chemistry.
The best part of the book for me was the characters and the chemistry they had. While there is a love story in the story, I loved all the characters and they way they interacted. I really felt invested in them and would love to know what happens next in their stories (hint hint Ms. Gray!) Overall it was a great way to spend two hours! )
